Raft Building
Think it, build it, keep it afloat... if you can!
Wikipedia says, "A raft is any flat floating structure for travel over water. It is the most basic of boat design, characterized by the absence of a hull. Instead, rafts are kept afloat using any combination of buoyant materials such as wood, poles, sealed barrels…"This is a unique and fun way to get everyone working together…and a great laugh too! An excellent team building exercise for a corporate day out, or the perfect way to have a proactive and socially interactive kids party, no one gets left out and everyone is in the same boat…literally!
| We split everyone into teams and give each team only the bare essentials: barrels, poles and rope. Then its up to each group to get creative mentally and physically until their raft is built! We then make sure that everyone has a great incentive to make the best raft imaginable, because if you don’t, you’re getting wet! Once the raft is built, everyone in each team has to pilot the raft across a safe river or lake in a race against time and the other teams! |
|
We adapt the requirements and distance for this race according to each group’s age and ability level to ensure everyone has a memorable and hilarious time with realistic goals that leave everyone with a sense of achievement!

Reasons for corporate team raft building
This activity is a great way to identify leaders and bring everyone together to enhance relationships between colleagues. The best relationships and behaviour at work require the same principles as everyday life - respect for others, integrity, honesty, compassion, and courage. Sometimes people have insecurities or stresses, which create difficulties on the surface to which others in the team then react. If you help people with their life-balance and personal fulfilment they become more emotionally mature, tolerant, positive independent, and self-sufficient.
Developing people involves more than behaviour, relationships, skills, knowledge and processes. It's often more about helping people feel better about themselves; helping the person to feel happy and fulfilled as reminding them that everyone is in the same boat. A good leader can facilitate this. Team building often occurs most effectively when the emphasis is on fun! Cooperation and effective performance might be better achieved by arranging other events that appear on the surface to be unconnected to work. That’s where we come in! Call us today to arrange a proactive breath of fresh air for your colleagues and employees, and you’ll quickly see the benefits for your business!
